1885 William F (Willie) Hauter
William F Hauter moved from Princeton, Illinois to
Peoria in 1885, joining his father Nicolaus, and brothers
Edward and Hugo at 602 Spencer. He worked at the
Firmenich Manufacturing Company as a hauler. In 1886
he was employed at the N. L. Griswold Company as a
candy maker. In 1889  the family moved to 319 Smith
and William was employed at the Peoria Steel Plow
Company. In 1890 he was employed at Selby, Star and
Company as a grinder. In 1894 he was a stage carpenter
at the Grand Opera House. In 1895 he was a bill poster
for the Peoria Bill Posting and Distributing Company. In
1897 he was employed as a machinist at the Rouse
Hazard and Company. In 1899 he was employed again as a
bill poster. In 1901, after the death of his sister
Anna in
1900, the family moved to 310 Johnson. In 1906 he was
living at 500 Lincoln and was employed as the stage
manager for Weast Theatre, a position that he held until
his death on October 12, 1907 in Peoria.

According to the Peoria City Directory, William and Eva
married sometime between 1905 and 1906.
