On August 17, 1918, Alan Lamotte Nichols, son of Clifford and
Mabel Nichols gave the ultimate sacrifice to his country.

Leaving Taliedo, Italy flying a Caproni 600hp biplane on
August 14th, en route to Paris, France through the French
Alps, the plane crashed due to gasoline failure, leaving the
Fiat Motor Plant in Torino, Italy on August 17th, killing
Alan Nichols, co-pilot Terres and mechanic Hartle.
