Just Regular People
Sometimes we only read or learn about people who are famous or have done
something extraordinary. The people that I have included in this site, may
have lived as regular people but were remembered and admired by my
ancestors. They may have been conductors, engineers, brakemen, switchmen,
supervisors, friends and acquaintances but they earned the respect of my
ancestors to be remembered as someone who made a difference in their life.

Robert E Jacobs was hired by the Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad on June 08, 1945 as a relief
operator/leverman at Liberty, Missouri. He worked at various locations in Missouri during his tenure with
the Burlington railroad including, Birmingham, Block 222, Brookfield,
Browning, Callao, Cameron Junction,
Cameron, Carrollton, Hamilton,
Hunnewell, Kearney, Liberty, Macon, Monroe City and Shelbina, Missouri.

Gene left the railroad in 1956 to work at the Trans World Airlines overhaul base in Kansas City, Missouri,
where he remained until his retirement in 1993.
Sometimes being a ticket agent has a little bit more
excitement than just another day at the depot.
