Henry H. Brown December 25, 1893 Argentine, Kansas
Henry H. Brown was born November 1861 to Henry H. and Ellen Brown in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa.
Moving to Topeka, Kansas around 1888 he met Elizabeth Gooding and they were married in 1890. They had five
Josephine Henry from Elizabeth's previous marriage, Hattie Perry, Temple Amity, Marie M. and
Ruth H. Working for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe railroad, first as a machinist, then a fireman he moved to
Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1903 as an locomotive engineer. He then moved to San Bernardino, California in
1906, where he remained until his death on
December 31, 1931.
His wife Elizabeth, continued to live in San Bernardino until her death on
March 11, 1940
David Dodge West was born February 20, 1894 to David and Fannie Letutia (Dodge) West in Argentine,
Wyandotte County, Kansas. David attended Argentine Public Schools and married in 1916,
Edith Fernalta Poley,
daughter of
Howard Augustus and Ida May (Shaner) Poley in Argentine, Wyandotte, Kansas. Two children were
born of this marriage, Howard Robert and
Jeanne B.
David was hired by the
Swift Meat Company as a clerk in 1912 and then promoted to Assistant Manager in 1920
at the
Swift Packing House, 10th & Berger, Kansas City, Kansas. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois sometime
1925 and David was later promoted to manger of poultry sales for Swift & Company, which included the
areas of New York, Chicago and Kansas City. He retired from Swift in 1941 and in 1947, established his own
D. D. West Wholesale Meat Company at 629 Osage in the Amourdale District of Kansas City, Kansas.
He married Gladys Rau Killip sometime before 1947. She was born
November 12, 1906 at 1105 Montgall in
Kansas City, Missouri to
John and Rose Belle (Darling) Killip. Gladys died March 15, 1967 in Lawrence, Douglas,
Kansas and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas
His first wife Edith, died
March 02, 1977 in Novalto, Marin County, California and is buried in
Eldora City Cemetery Eldora, Hardin County, Iowa.
David Dodge West died
June 17, 1957 in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas and is buried in
Maple Hill Cemetery Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas

Frances "Fannie" Letutia Dodge was born September 02, 1868 in Kingston, Caldwell County, Missouri to
Obadiah Morill and Nancy E (Long) Dodge. She married David West on January 01, 1884 in Hamilton, Caldwell
County, Missouri. Shortly after their marriage they moved to
Argentine, Wyandotte County Kansas. Of that
marriage, five children were born, Pearl, Obadiah Robert, David Dodge, Alameda Mariposa and an unknown child.
Fannie was very active in
social events including the Social Workers of Argentine, The Puritan Club, The
Goodwill Society and was also a member of the Ruby Avenue Congregational Church.
Fannie (Dodge) West died
December 28, 1942 and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
David West died
July 27, 1927 and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
